Lincoln nebraskaThe Basics

Lincoln Medical Education Partnership was founded in 1975 as a provider of family health services. It has since treated hundreds of thousands of clients and trained over 200 medical professionals. Located in Lincoln, the capital of Nebraska, the substance abuse services provided by LMEP are state-accredited and limited to outpatient treatment with relapse prevention counseling.

Treatment and Staff

LMEP offers drug and alcohol evaluations, a referral system, outpatient services and addiction education. Before a client enrolls in treatment, they must first go through a drug and alcohol evaluation to determine the level of care needed and to develop an individualized treatment plan. Each unique plan dictates the type counseling the client should receive and the frequency of weekly treatment. Counseling services include individual and group therapy as well as family counseling. Individual and family sessions are scheduled independently, while group sessions are scheduled several times throughout the week.

Addiction education classes are also held intermittently throughout the week and are open to clients, their families and community members. Relapse prevention as well as a solid referral system are also available for those seeking further support. Those wishing to attend 12-step meetings outside of treatment are referred to local meetings.

The staff at LMEP consists of LPCs and LADCs.

Extras

In addition to the comprehensive substance abuse treatment program, LMEP also offers a wide variety of other health and wellness services. Training for addiction professionals, a school intervention and prevention program, a cancer research center, women and infant services, a family advocacy program and behavioral medicine services are all available.

In Summary

LMEP’s outpatient program provides comprehensive treatment that helps clients recover while still maintaining a regular life, work and family schedule. The individualized treatment plans allow clients to participate in evidence-based care while not interfering with their life responsibilities. With a range of social and wellness services, the Lincoln community is well served by LMEP’s mental and behavioral health programs.
