The Basics

Located in Jacksonville, Florida, The Community Rehabilitation Center (CRC) was founded in 1993 as a non-profit agency providing social and human wellness services to lower socio-economic residents, serving Duval, Nassau, Clay and St. Johns Counties. CRC offers an outpatient substance abuse treatment program that implements a variety of evidence based approaches.

Treatment and Staff

CRC takes a multi-level approach to treatment, integrating behavior modification, therapy, education and medication to cover all the bases of addiction. In order to enroll in treatment, clients must first go through an initial evaluation and assessment to give the counselors a better understating of their needs and to develop an individualized treatment plan that caters to those needs. Any potential co-occurring disorders and the required approach for treatment are also determined at this time. As clients progress through treatment, plans are reviewed every 90 days to ensure their unique recovery needs are still being met.

Treatment plans typically consist of individual and group therapy, vocational rehabilitation and medication management. Individual sessions are scheduled independently, while group sessions are held several times throughout the week and clients have the freedom to choose which groups they wish to attend.

Both individual and group sessions are based in CBT and DBT methodology. During vocational rehabilitation, clients are prepared for re-entry into the workforce and learn valuable skills such as resume writing, interview techniques and how to search for jobs. The 12 steps are not included in the program, but clients can be referred to local chapters if requested.

The staff at CRC consists of a psychiatrist, LPCs, clinicians and nurse practitioners.

Extras

In addition to the substance abuse treatment program, CRC also offers a variety of other behavioral and wellness services for clients and the community at large. Additional services include health exams, chronic disease management, health and wellness services, services for the deaf and hard of hearing, HIV/AIDS care and vocational rehabilitation.
