The Basics

Located in Boise, Idaho, Northpoint Recovery is one of only two treatment centers in the state that provide detox and residential treatment on-site. A newly remodeled facility, Northpoint is fully licensed and offers a range of program options, as well as outpatient and aftercare services in Idaho’s Treasure Valley.

Accommodations and Food

With 22 beds available, clients share rooms and bathrooms with one other person of the same gender. Twin beds, closets, all linens and laundry facilities are provided. Furnishings are new and stylish, creating a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere. A landscaped yard contains benches, a fire pit, garden and communal seating. All meals are prepared on-site. As nutritional guidance is part of the treatment program, meals are balanced and wholesome.

Treatment and Staff

Staff determines an individualized treatment plan for the client after evaluation. The initial program is 28-days, with detox adding an additional five to seven. Medically monitored detox is provided on-site, with registered nurses, psychiatrists and doctors supervising care 24/7. For those requiring dual diagnosis support, medication management and specialized counseling is provided.

Clients participate in group therapy daily, with smaller process groups also available. These focus on emotional concerns, progress and peer support. Educating clients about the underlying causes of substance abuse, the effects and consequences is of great importance. Special attention is also placed on relapse prevention, where clients learn to identify triggers and how to avoid old patterns of behavior. Individual therapy utilizes both CBT and DBT techniques and is offered weekly. Introduction to 12-step programs is made, with clients transported to off-site meetings several times a week.

After completing the residential program, clients are offered outpatient treatment in lieu of aftercare. That program is for one year, and includes continued support through group and individual sessions.

In addition to registered nurses, psychiatrists and doctors, additional staff consists of Master’s-level therapists, chemical dependency counselors and specialized therapists.

Extras

Among other modalities, experiential therapy is offered weekly. These sessions take clients horseback riding, hiking, or on other outings that encourage natural positive experiences.

Holistic treatment includes yoga, tai chi and meditation training. Nutritional counseling provides a framework from which to make healthier choices, and regular exercise at the on-site gym is suggested. These methods combine to treat the body and quiet the mind.

Northpoint Recovery provides a relaxing, safe and structured environment for clients to recover from substance abuse. The variety of modalities offered suggests that clients are sure to find a combination that works, and are able to treat all aspects of their condition. With staff highly trained and always available, Northpoint offers personal, targeted treatment. Though the outpatient program costs $15,000 alone, if the client enrolls after completing the residential program at Northpoint, a large discount is applied.
