Aspen offers two levels of education, which are required for DUI/DWI offenses. A textbook is included in the cost, which is $70.50 for intake, and $40 per class. These classes focus on education and social issues, aimed to raise awareness about substance abuse and related problems.

The outpatient therapy program is aimed at clients that require ongoing outpatient treatment, not just court-mandated classes. The 12 individual sessions are two hours in length, and look at use of substances and develop strategies to overcome difficulties. A workbook is utilized, and structure is provided help clients set and accomplish recovery goals. Exercises, discussions and evaluations for self-assessment, stress reduction, natural highs, refusal skills, self-esteem, progression, violence, anger management and models for change are developed.

The CBT-based relapse prevention program consists of 12 to 24 weeks of 1.5-hour sessions, depending on client needs. This program is suitable for clients that desire more support maintaining sobriety upon completing another program. The group therapy sessions cover impulse control, deductive reasoning, problem solving, creative thinking, social skills training and anger management, all using CBT methods.

Additional therapies, including individual, family and couples therapy and EMDR may be integrated into the client’s treatment plan. These sessions are 50 minutes in length, and cost varies depending on which therapist is used. All staff are highly trained Master’s-level psychologists.

Both classes utilize workbooks, and are specially tailored toward individuals and families who are substance abusers.
