The Basics
Empowerment Resurrection Center (ERC) of Chester, Pennsylvania was founded by CEO Martin Chase after he got sober and noticed his hometown didn’t have adequate local treatment services. ERC is a non-profit outpatient facility which provides affordable, 12-step based care for adult men and women in the local tri-state area.
Treatment and Staff
Clients begin at ERC with an assessment process, which can be completed either online or over the phone. Programming runs Monday though Thursday evening from 5 to 8 pm and is individualized to each client’s needs. Though attendance varies by client, all who attend ERC can expect to meet for group therapy sessions between once and four times a week.
All who attend ERC must work the 12-steps while attending treatment at the facility and are encouraged to attend outside AA or NA meetings within the community as well. Group sessions cover relapse prevention, parenting skills and coping skills. There are also educational seminars offered regarding the disease of addiction. ERC also provides classes to clients who have received DUIs. Those with co-occurring disorders may also attend sessions at the facility. Still, if additional mental health or medication management services are needed, the staff may need to provide clients with referrals for other agencies.
The facility is managed by CADCs, with additional volunteer staff who run the office.
Extras
ERC offers a family program, specifically for children of clients several times throughout the year. An individualized aftercare program is offered in the form of weekly group counseling sessions. ERC provides mentoring and outreach services to the adolescents of Chester. Vocational training services are available in compliance with the state’s Department of Labor.
In Summary
In all, Empowerment Resurrection Center provides basic outpatient care with flexible scheduling to those in the area, with support for co-occurring disorders as well. The facility also offers supplemental programs, including services for family members as well as aftercare planning. For those seeking basic addiction treatment in the area, ERC is definitely an organization worth considering.
